Jacco van Achterberg

Jacco van Achterberg has been head of EMEA since joining Cloudian in December 2014, responsible for go-to-market strategy and execution, including sales, channels and alliances. Prior to Cloudian, he was EMEA Sales Director at Nexenta Systems, growing the region from 0 to 1000+ customers in 4 years, contributing 40% of worldwide revenue. Jacco is an entrepreneurial leader, with over 15 years of industry experience in building high performance teams and high growth businesses at innovative technology companies including Inprove, Tiscali and Cegeka.

Fred Smith

Fred Smith is the Global VP of OEM Sales. He has been involved in the evolution of the Software Defined Datacenter from concept to reality – from compute at Sun Microsystems to networking at Xsigo to storage at Nexenta and Cloudian. Prior to Cloudian, Fred headed up the global OEM, Business Development and Alliances team at Nexenta. Prior to Nexenta, Fred held a number of leadership roles in sales and product management at Xsigo Systems (acquired by Oracle) and Sun Microsystems. Fred holds an MBA and Bachelor in Science from Vanderbilt University.

Neil Stobart

As the VP of Global System Engineering for Cloudian Inc., Stobart is responsible for leading the technology team to drive sales and brand awareness of Cloudian and cloud storage solutions, providing education to customers, partners and press and ensuring technical due diligence is adhered to during the sales and deployment processes.

Stobart brings 22 years’ experience in developing technical storage and systems architecture solutions with time served at Nexenta, Dell, Compellent, Hitachi Data Systems, MaXXan, Morse and Woolwich Building society covering all aspects of data storage and management technologies including; SAN, NAS, Object, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, backup, storage networking, capacity planning and performance analysis as well as Cloud computing, Open Systems computing, thin client, data networking and application infrastructure design.

Stobart has held several senior consulting and leadership roles working with some of the largest technology companies in the industry and providing guidance and advice to major commercial organisations globally, on best practises and economic considerations of data storage technology deployment.

Michael Morgan

Michael Morgan leads Cloudian’s finance, human resources, adminstration, legal, and operations departments. Morgan brings more than 25 years of experience in managing all aspects of finance and administration for private and publicly held technology companies, building companies from start up through IPO and leading M&A transactions on both the buy and sell sides. Most recently, Morgan served as CFO of Tegile Systems, where he raised several rounds of debt and equity funding, and lead the successful sale of the company to Western Digital. Before Tegile, Morgan was CFO of cloud storage company Panzura, where he established the company’s financial infrastructure and led the company through rapid growth and fundraising. Other prior experience includes finance leadership roles at Model N, Skybox Security, BackWeb Technologies, Talarian Corp. and Enlighten Software Solutions. Morgan began his career at KPMG, LLP, leaving as manager. He is a CPA and holds a BS in Accounting from San Jose State University.

Hiroshi Ohta

Hiroshi Ohta is Co-Founder and CEO of Cloudian Japan. As an innovative forerunner now and, before Cloudian, he led development of a number of first-in-the-industry products and services in the mobile communication industry, including camera phones, photo mail service, and ringtone download service, to name a few, which became global-standard service and technology. He served as executive managing officer, leading product and service development, at Vodafone Japan and SoftBank. Recently in 2017 he obtained a patent as a co-inventor in the space of AI.

Gary Ogasawara

Gary Ogasawara heads up Cloudian’s global Engineering team, with operations in Silicon Valley, Milan, Tokyo, and Beijing. His responsibilities cover product development, deployment, and operations. Prior to Cloudian, Gary lead the Engineering team at eCentives, a search engine company. He also led the development of real-time commerce and advertising systems at Inktomi, an Internet infrastructure company. Gary holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley, specializing in uncertainty reasoning and machine learning.

Fadel Hamed

Fadel Hamed is responsible for strategic and tactical delivery of exceptional customer outcomes for Cloudian. As Vice President of Customer Success, Fadel leads all aspects of global technical support and Cloudian programs to drive a customer success culture. Prior to Joining Cloudian, Fadel was Vice President Customer Success for Siemens Healthineers, covering North America. At Siemens, he was responsible for service operational excellence, service quality, and customer advocacy. While at Siemens, Fadel led a global strategy and practice to leverage machine data analytics for predictive support. Fadel was also senior director at NetApp responsible for customer quality and advocacy where he established corporate programs, metrics and goals focused on customer success. Fadel held progressive leadership roles at Roche, Genentech, Amgen and IBM. Fadel has a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley.

Jon Ash

Jon leads Cloudian’s WW sales and professional services teams. Prior to Cloudian, he led the WW Sales organization at Nexenta, a pioneer in software-defined storage, where he grew the user base from zero to over two thousand customers. Jon has strong experience with direct, OEM and channel sales models and has successfully grown revenue at multiple storage companies both large and small. Jon holds a BSC from Warwick University in the UK.

Michael Tso

Michael Tso is co-cofounder and CEO of Cloudian. Prior to Cloudian, he co-founded and led Gemini Mobile Technologies, a pioneer in wireless messaging, providing mission-critical infrastructure software that today powers services at some of the world’s largest telcos.

At search engine pioneer Inktomi, Michael led engineering for an e-commerce search engine, and designed a network congestion control system for KDDI which later became an industry standard.

At Intel, he led the development of web acceleration technology and collaborated with Nokia on NarrowBand Sockets, commonly known as SmartMessaging, which enabled the world’s first SMS ringtone download service. Michael holds 36 patents. He graduated from MIT with an MS in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, BS in Computer Science, BS in Electrical Engineering, and a minor in Economics.

Jon Toor

Jon Toor leads Cloudian’s inbound and outbound marketing teams. Prior to Cloudian, Toor served as vice president of digital marketing and demand generation at Brocade. He also served as the vice president of marketing at Xsigo Systems where he led the outbound marketing team, a group he led from company launch until the company acquisition by Oracle. Prior to Xsigo, he served at ONStor as vice president of marketing. Toor holds an MBA, bachelor of science in mechanical engineering, and a bachelor of arts in economics all from Stanford University.

Caterina Falchi

Caterina leads the engineering team in Cloudian Milan developing competitive solutions for file technologies. In 1998 Caterina founded Infinity Storage srl, an Italian company pioneering software-defined storage that developed an innovative solution to manage different types of storage such as optical solutions, NAS, CAS, tape libraries, and object storage, giving transparent access at a front-end level to applications via CIFS and NFS. In 2017 Infinity Storage was acquired by Cloudian. Caterina worked as a senior software engineer for six years at Italtel, the largest Italian telecommunications company, followed by 12 years as CTO at IAN srl, where she invented the first WORM file system integrated into Unix, followed by the first single volume file system for optical libraries. Caterina graduated from Politecnico di Milano in electronic engineering.
