Gary Mirfield
Solutions Product Manager, Cloudian
Gary Mirfield is a highly experienced and strategic product leader with over 25 years of expertise in enterprise storage, data management, and service delivery. Currently serving as the Solutions Product Manager at Cloudian Inc., Gary plays a central role in shaping the company’s product direction, driving innovation, and aligning technical capabilities with evolving market needs. His focus is on delivering scalable, efficient, and secure solutions that address the growing demand for object storage across hybrid and multicloud environments.
Prior to joining Cloudian in April 2024, Gary held the position of Product Manager – Protocols at WekaIO, where he was responsible for the strategic development of S3, SMB, and NFS protocols. His work enabled greater interoperability and performance across Weka’s high-performance data platform, supporting use cases from AI and machine learning to enterprise file services. During his tenure, he successfully aligned front-end protocol strategy with customer needs, contributing to the platform’s continued adoption in data-intensive environments.
Gary’s product and services leadership experience spans major enterprise technology companies, including Pure Storage, where he served as a Services Product Manager. There, he led the development of professional services offerings, bridging the gap between customer implementation needs and product capabilities to deliver value-driven outcomes. Prior to that, Gary spent nearly 14 years at Hitachi Vantara in a series of progressively senior roles, including Services Portfolio Manager, Enterprise Cloud Architect, and Master Solutions Architect. His contributions included leading global engineering teams, driving cloud and service-based product strategies, and supporting large-scale enterprise transformations. His work covered everything from disaster recovery planning to hybrid cloud deployments, emphasizing customer success and technical excellence.
Earlier in his career, Gary held engineering and consulting roles at Posetiv and Meggitt Plc, where he gained hands-on experience with storage architecture, disaster recovery solutions, server and network administration, and systems integration. He worked with major clients such as BT, Pfizer, Channel 4, and Dell, demonstrating a strong ability to assess customer needs, design tailored solutions, and deliver complex projects from concept to completion.
Gary is known for his deep domain expertise, collaborative leadership style, and ability to translate product vision into actionable roadmaps.
